Customers Keep Calling for Your Hours? Use a Business Profile QR Code

Infinite QR Team · Nov 6, 2026

The phone rings again, and it’s another customer asking what time you close, where you’re located or whether you offer a certain service. A business profile QR code puts all of those answers on one mobile page, so customers can find them with a single scan instead of a phone call.

Why customers keep calling with the same questions

Most of these calls aren’t because your customers are careless. The information is usually out there, just not in a place that’s easy to reach in the moment:

  • It’s scattered. Your hours are on one site, your address on a map listing, your services on a flyer and your phone number on a business card.
  • It’s out of date. Printed materials can’t change when your holiday hours or service list do, so people call to double-check.
  • Your website is hard to use on a phone. If finding your hours means pinching, zooming and digging through menus, calling feels faster.
  • Nothing points them to the answer. A customer holding your receipt or standing at your door has no obvious next step except dialing.

The fix is to give people one simple, phone-friendly page with everything they usually call about, and a code that opens it instantly.

How to solve it with a business profile QR code

  1. List the questions you hear most. Spend a few days jotting down what people call or ask about. Hours, address, parking, services, prices and how to book are common ones.
  2. Build one page that answers them. Put your business name, a short description, your hours, your address, your phone number and a clear list of services in one place. Keep the wording short enough to read on a small screen.
  3. Add the actions people want next. Include ways to call, get directions or visit your website, so the page leads somewhere useful instead of ending in a dead end.
  4. Use a dynamic code. A dynamic QR code lets you update the page behind the code after printing, so you don’t have to reprint when your hours change.
  5. Write a clear call to action. Something like “Scan for our hours, location and services” tells people exactly what they’ll get.
  6. Put the code where questions start. Good spots include your front door or window, business cards, receipts and invoices, vehicle signage, flyers, packaging and the counter.
  7. Test it on a few phones. Scan from the real distance and check that the page loads quickly and every button works.
  8. Keep the page current. Set a reminder for yourself to review it before holidays, seasonal changes or any time your services change.

See which spots get scanned

Dynamic codes record each scan with the date, time, approximate city and device type. If you use separate codes for, say, your window sign and your receipts, you can see which placement customers actually use. Read more in our guide to tracking QR code scans.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Cramming in everything. A business profile page should answer quick questions, not replace your whole website. Link out for the details.
  • Forgetting to update hours. An outdated page is worse than none, because customers trust it and show up when you’re closed.
  • A bare code with no label. People won’t scan something if they don’t know what it opens.
  • Printing it too small. A door or window sign needs a bigger code than a business card, since people scan from farther away.
  • Using a static code for changing information. If the details are baked into the code, every change means reprinting.

Troubleshooting

  • People still call: make the call to action more specific and place the code closer to where the question comes up, such as next to your posted hours.
  • The code won’t scan on your door: glass glare and backlighting are common culprits. Place the code on a solid white panel and size it up.
  • Few scans: mention it out loud. A quick “Scan this and you’ll always have our hours” goes a long way.
